Another vote for never take it off except to sonic clean it once a week for a few minutes. I feel naked without it. And I’m so absent minded that I know, were I to take it off for various things, I would totally forget it somewhere.

I’m super paranoid about my ring. I take it off when showering, gardening, cleaning, washing dishes, etc. I also don’t wear it at work! I work with children with severe disabilities who are always drooling, spitting, tugging on my hands, etc. I’m always changing diapers and pulling gloves on and off…my ring catches on the gloves and I’m afraid of pulling it off with the glove and not noticing it!

My fiancé is sort of hurt by the fact that I don’t always wear it. I tried to explain to him, though, that I’m very protective of it and I don’t want anything to happen to it! I’d like to get a half eternity band as my wedding band that I can wear all the time…nothing to stick up and get caught on gloves or kids!

I only take mine off when I am preparing something messy like hamburger meat or dough or something spicy.  Nothing hurts worse than getting cayenne pepper or jalapeno juice stuck up under your ring; I ended up with a blister and couldn’t wear my ring for a few days.  I also take it off when I am dying my hair because I don’t want to get dye caught in the underside of my ring.

I only take it off to clean it once a week. Otherwise, it stays on for everything. I lost my original e-ring because I was taking it off so I wouldn’t damage it. Well one of those times, I forgot that I left it on the sink. I never saw it again. So this one does not come off. I wear gloves if I am doing something dirty in the house and half gloves for sports if necessary.

I take mine off when I shower and also when I do dishes/clean with chemicals (I read that Easy-Off, which I use to clean my electric cooktop, can really damage jewelry? Not sure if it’s true, but better safe than sorry!). Like the posters above, I also will take mine off if I’m cooking something really messy (dough, meatloaf).

I keep it on at the gym every day, and I also keep it on when I swim. Sometimes I’ll take it off to sleep and put it on a little ringholder I have, but usually I just leave it on.

When I first got engaged, I took it off to sleep, work out and clean but always put it right back on.  Now I pretty much only wear it when I leave the house.   I just dont worry about losing it when its in my ring dish by the bed so its easier to leave it there when I’m at home and baking/crafting/cooking/etc

I take my ring off to sleep because I tend to sleep with my hands near my face, and I don’t want an indent from the ston in my cheek when I wake up.

I don’t bother putting my ring on until after I shower and do my hair in the morning.

I take my ring off to do dishes and clean the house. My jeweler specifically reccommended I take it off for dishes.

I don’t wear my ring to work out because I don’t like the way any rings feel when I’m lifting weights. But this is easy for me because I work out at home. Not sure if I’d take my ring off if I was at the gym but I probably wouldn’t wear it there.

I never worry about losing my ring after I’ve taken it off because I have ring holders throughout my home where I can safely leave it and I know where to find it again (ex: near the kitchen sink, in my bedroom, in the bathroom).

I never ever take my ring off in public!

I almost never take mine off. I got engaged in a tropical location and wore it swimming/snorkeling, when sleeping, when showering, all the time. The only time I take/took it off was when SCUBA diving (lots of heavy gear and deep waters.) I figure the more I take it off the bigger chance I have of losing it.

I only take it off to make bread, work with ground meat, put on lotion, or clean it! When I sleep, I turn the diamond into the palm of my hand — I read somewhere that rubbing on sheets is the greatest source of wear for a diamond, so I figure that protects it somewhat!

I never take my rings off if I’m out of the house.  I don’t wear it to sleep, do dishes, other cleaning, work out, shower, fixing my hair and make up, etc.  I put my rings on right before I’m ready to walk out the door and generally take them off once it’s time to make dinner.

I take it off if I’m making food that will get all over it.  If I’m going to the gym.  If I am going to do anything related to swimming, if I am doing a run.  I usually take it off before bed because I banged it on the head board a few times and I take it off before the shower now after the spinning diamond scare.  If I do go out with it on it doesn’t come off for anything not even when washing my hands.
