Might be best to wait… Check with your parents… cuz mine don’t want me to do tea ceremony in a white dress.  So I will be wearing my red cheong sam for the tea ceremony and changing into my wedding gown after.

yeah i think people do it differently depending on their timeline for the day. some brides wear their wedding gowns because there’s not a lot of time between tea ceremony and ceremony.  ms. toucan actually wore her wedding gown for the tea ceremony.

i would suggest what strawberry baby said…check with your parents…if they would rather have you wear a kwa or a qi pao (these are different dresses) instead of a wedding gown…that answers your question – you’ll have to change after the tea ceremony.   however, if they don’t have a preference, you can do what you want.

a kwa is traditionally worn for tea ceremony – two peice outfit with longer sleeves and it’s not really tight fitting. however, these days a lot of girls just wear a qi pao which is just one dress.
