I try and wait until December 1st, but it doesn’t always happen. I am in the camp that believes Christmas should not come before Remembrance Day (November 11th in Canada), I believe it’s Veterans Day in the US, out of respect for our veterans.
When do you break out the Christmas stuff?

You need a poll option for two weeks before Christmas. We get a real tree and if we put it up any earlier it is deader than dead by Christmas.

@MsGinkgo: We put ours up after halloween but before the first weekend in December. We are tentatively (weather permitting) putting ours up this weekend. 🙂

First weekend of December – no sooner!

I’m in the US, so I usually shoot for Thanksgiving day, or the day after. I guess I’ve always heard that it becomes socially acceptable after then.

Darling Husband won’t let me put them up until November 25th. He says a month of them is enough, lol. I’m hoping he’ll make a small exception and let me put them up on the 24th this year, though, since the 25th is a Monday. I like doing it on a weekend.

@brooklyn_bee: I forget about American Thanksgiving – ours is in October, before Halloween. That option has been added!

We have always done it the weekend after Thanksgiving. However this year, the Darling Husband and I are going to compete in a first annual Beard Competition in the city where we were married. So we will be doing them the weekend before as I refuse to wait until the weekend after! Just to explain, Darling Husband has a substantial and beautiful full man beard so he will be competing in the competition for best natural beard and the Grizzly Adams award as he is covered with hair fromhead to toe and has substantial dread locks. I will be competing in the Best Fake Beard competition. Working on it this coming weekend, will post pics when I’m finished!

After Thanksgiving, but this year since we’re getting married early December we’ll likely wait until we get back from the honeymoon. 😀

I voted after Thanksgiving (US), but really I put them up the day before Thanksgiving since I am usually out of town for all of Thanksgiving weekend and like to come home to having my decorations already up! 🙂
I usually take the Wednesday before Thanksgiving off of work so I can bake for the following day, put up my decorations, and pack to go out of town. It’s a nice tradtion for me. I really enjoy it.
