Usually December 1st BUT this year we put our tree up Friday. I had to work around my sons schedule  since his birthday is the 1st week of December and I’m usually really busy around Black Friday through to his birthday. I didn’t want to wait too long and then not do it at all this year. lol

I voted for December 1, but in reality I don’t always get around to it until later than that.

@lilybug9:  I always thought the 12 days of Christmas referred to the 12 days between Christmas and Three Kings Day (January 6).

Friday after thanksgiving. My mom and I would always go Black Friday shopping in the morning and then put up decorations in the afternoon ๐Ÿ™‚

Technically, I don’t put anything up. We celebrate Christmas and all, I’m just a scrooge- I hate all the buying and crazy and stress that goes with it, including having to decorate and then un-decorate my house.  It just stresses me out more than it’s worth.  So every year I tell Darling Husband whatever decorating he wants to do is up to him, but I will take absolutely no part in it other than to sit outside ready to call 911 if he falls while he’s putting lights on the roof.  He usually gets around to it between Thanksgiving and the second week of December.  Although last year all we did was lights on the outside and a few Santa figurines- no tree, nothing in the house. It was heaven ๐Ÿ™‚

I like to put it up the Friday after Thanksgiving. And it comes down the week between Christmas and New Years. MUST be down before NYD.

I seem to be in the majority: my family would always put ours up the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. I LOVE decorating the tree: it’s always been one of my favorite things and I’m excited to continue it next year when my fiance (by then he’ll be my husband!) and I have our own apartment.

@LittleRiver:  it does. but in the uk it is/was a bit of a tradition to do it both ways. however i have seen so many people on fb that have already put their stuff up. so i guess all traditions out the window there lol. i think 1st dec is probably most popular here now.

Soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love Christmas and will decorate as soon as possible and I don’t feel silly now because someone else in our unit has a wreath up already. If I didn’t have a paper to write today it would be today!

i have actual anger issues with people who put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving.  i think it’s so disrespectul to Thanksgiving and the meaning of it (to be with family).

With that said..I wait until about the second week of December.

@KateByDesign:  I feel that way about Remembrance Day!

I wait until December, although sometimes it might be a few days before when I start depending on what’s going on.
