We got a lot of RSVP’s in the beginning and a lot at the very end but we really didn’t get any in the ‘middle’. I would wait until after the 10th. Don’t bug people if it isn’t even due yet.

You definitely need to wait until the RSVP date. We got a flood of them the last few days.

BUT – we did start following up right away, the day after the RSVP date (our RSVPs were online/by phone, so no mail to wait on). It was an out of town wedding for 100% of guests and the hotel blocks expired 4 days after our RSVP date — so people needed to decide if they were coming if they wanted a hotel room in the block.

People have a lot of reasons they wait to RSVP – trying to arrange child care, a spouse may have a social conflict they are trying to work out, not sure what their budget looks like, just busy…

@IUrebekah3RT:  You gave them a “due” date… don’t bother them about it before that date.

Wait until after the 10th for sure.  Maybe the 11th or 12th you can start calling people.  That will give you plenty of time to track people down.

I would wait until the 13th — that’s the Monday after the deadline. Some people think they have to mail it by the date given, when in reality it’s the date that you want all the responses by. Unless you’re sitting down to dinner with people who haven’t replied, I would leave them alone.

Ya I waited until the RSVP date and am now contacting all of the people who have not yet responded. Still about 50 people! 🙁

@IUrebekah3RT:  You gave your guests a deadline to abide by, now be patient and follow it.

Wait until the deadline and then some. Sometimes pple honestly just forget to mail it on time.

@IUrebekah3RT:  I guess if I thought some people would for sure want to go but hadn’t RSVP’d yet I might just send out a note that condos are booking up and you wanted to let people know…. but I wouldn’t start asking for an actual RSVP yet, if that makes sense.

I’m a fellow June bride and can’t remember when I sent mine out sometime in March, I think.  my deadline is June first. I received about 30% of my RSVPs in the first couple of weeks after they went out and I just received one today in the mail. I anticipate receiving the rest closer to the deadline. I’m going to start calling people the day after my deadline.

@IUrebekah3RT:  I started bugging them the week before they were due 🙂
