I take mine off for the night and put it away in a little wooden box. I also don’t tend to put it on when I am around the house.

The rule is to NEVER take it off outside of the house. If I go on holiday etc. then I don’t take it off so I don’t forget it etc. If I loose it in the house I will eventually find it 🙂

I take mine off if I’m sleeping, cleaning, working out, cooking, or taking a shower. It goes in a little trinket box with a magnetic lid.

I take mine off when I sleep, shower, travel, or do an activity that could dirty or damage it like cooking/cleaning/working out. Diamonds are durable but I still don’t like to subject mine to more wear & tear than necessary & I also try to minimize fine scratches on the setting. I have a cute little jewelry tray for most of my jewelry but I always put my wedding set in its original box if I’m not wearing it- I lose things too easily to just leave it on a counter (soldering rings together is also helpful in this regard). I don’t ever take it off when I’m outside the home because I lost my promise ring that way by removing it to wash my hands and then forgetting it in a restaurant’s bathroom, so I don’t recommend doing that. Ring insurance is also relatively inexpensive for peace of mind.

jl2017 :  I take it off all the time. Cooking, showering, doing yard work, working out, depending on what I have to do at work that day, sleeping. I think I’m in the minority here that I have mine off pretty frequently.

If I’m at home, I put it in one of three ring dishes we have around the house. Two were Christmas presents and one I got at my bridal shower. Before I had those, I just kept it in the box from the jewelry store.

If I’m at work or the gym, there is a small zip pocket in my work bag where I put my ring.

Only take it off to put on lotion or if I’m cleaning with harsh chemicals. I leave it on while I sleep, shower, gym, etc.

I take mine off when sleeping, cleaning, showering, and working out.  It goes in my ring box everytime so it doesn’t get misplaced

I never take my engagement ring off outside of the house. My wedding band is an eternity band so I will put that around my necklace or on my husband’s finger (if he’s around) if I need to do something that can cause me to lose a stone (like I did when I was “being strong” and pulling the heavy luggage out of the taxi on our honeymoon.. ugh). In the house, I’ll take it off for sleeping, showering, cleaning, and cooking. I have ring dishes literally all over my house (by the sink in the kitchen, in the bathroom, by the bed, by the couch, etc.) so when I take them off, I know I will ALWAYS put them in a ring dish because there’s always one nearby. So, when I look down and see I don’t have them on, I just walk around and look through all my ring dishes. (Spoiler alert- 99% of the time they are in the bathroom ring dish!)

I only take mine off if I have my hands in mucky food, say I’m making meatballs, it comes off. I also take it off if I am changing the sheets on beds — I know of two people who have lost their diamonds from sheets yanking on the prongs of the setting while vigorously snapping and pulling sheets on beds. One found her diamond in the room, the other never did. I also take my ring off if we are on vacation and in questionable areas for tourists. They stay in the hotel/cruise cabin safe then. Otherwise, my rings stay on through dishes, showering, every day wear and tear, etc. My friend’s elderly mother once told me “Life is too short not to wear your diamonds every day!” and I agree. foot-in-mouth

I take all my jewelry off as soon as I get home.  I pretty much always wear it when I’m outside of the house, except 2x a week when I teach sculpture.  Then I take it off cause it would just get nasty.

So far I only take mine off when I have a shower, do dishes, put lotion on, or am going to be doing any weight lifting.

I wear my ring to work and wear gloves a lot.

I added extra insurance to my home insurance to cover any damage or theft to my ring so that i can wear my ring at all times.

The extra insurance obviously cost a bit more but Im work a LOT and use my hands so If i took it off for work I would hardly ever get to wear my ring. 🙁

I have dishes in my kitchen, make up room and make up vanity. I don’t wear my ring when I sleep, shower, apply make up, cook, clean or workout.

jl2017 :  Mine comes off when I sleep, shower, work with raw meat, washing dishes, swim, work out, hunt/Fish. Pretty much any time I worry about possibly losing it (slipping off finger in water) or damaging it. Mine always goes in a ring dish or my ring box.
