I ONLY take mine off when cleaning (chemicals = bad!) or when exercising (my hands swell easily and it can be uncomfortable). The more often you take it off, the more likely you are to lose it!!

I pretty much never take mine off except while baking, “sticky” activities with kids, and instances where the band takes a lot of impact (I teach colorguard, it goes on a chain during practice).  I am one of those people that jewelry does not exist in my possession long so I am terrified of losing it!  Luckily we picked out the ring together: low profile, bezel set center stone and channel set side stones, and platinum.  Doesn’t get any more indestructible than that!

I only take my ring off when I’m showering… more so to keep it from getting caught in my hair since it has spiky leaves on it.  I’ve actually cut myself (and my FH!) with the ring… I blame him because he picked out something that can be used as a weapon… but I love it!  It’s platinum & sapphires.

I take my ring off right before bed.  This little cutie guards my ring at night =)

I only take mine off when I shower, and that’s because it’s just a tad bit too big and I don’t want it to go down the drain. (=

I take my ring off when I clean as I usually do all my cleaning at once… I put it in my jewelry box.
I take my ring off when I take a bath because I take long soaking baths and use a ton of scrubby products.. I just make sure it’s in the middle of the bathroom counter and I also usually close the drain in the sink so if by some CRAZY reason it did fall in the sink, it’d be okay.
Other than that I leave it on. I agree that the more you get comfortable taking your ring off, the more likely you’re to lose it!!

I take my ring off when Im going to sleep, or shower.

My fingers blow up at night! I tried to sleep with it on, but I would wake up not feeling my fingers. LOL

Wow I didn’t realize so many people took their rings off. I had my original promise ring for about 6 years and almost never took it off. It has a pink sapphire center stone and a diamond on each side of it – they have never gotten loose, but I do take it to get cleaned about once a year or so and they check the prongs when they do it.

I’ve had my e-ring since September and have never taken it off! I get a little nervous sometimes because it’s so important. The diamond was his great-grandmother’s so if I lose that thing…..I don’t even want to think about it. I still don’t plan on taking it off though, unless it’s for some drastic reason because I don’t see the need to.

I wear my rings to work(I’m a nurse as well), but made sure to pick out a ring that set lower so it wouldn’t catch on gloves(me and my DH picked my ring out together).  I don’t wear my rings when asleep, at the gym, taking a shower, doing chores around the house or when I’m just lounging around the house.  I also have a plain tungsten band that I will wear when we go on camping trips and when we go on our honeymoon this March to Costa Rica and at some point I may just wear that band to work as well(many nurses wear something similiar).

I have to bring my rings in every 6 months to be inspected by the jeweler(part of their lifetime warranty) and they told me NOT to wear my ring 24/7….that it will make a huge difference in keeping my ring from having stones fall out, etc.  When I take them off, there is only ONE spot they go in so that will decrease the chances of me losing them.

I used to take mine off at night, but now I wear it 24/7/ It has a bezel setting so I’m not worried about the center stone falling out. The halo and shank stones are something else, but they should be cheap to replace if one falls out. Lucklily it’s a not too pointy or sharp otherwise I would have to take it off at uni. Otherwise it would pop through the latex gloves I have to wear all the time in the lab.
