alpinebride:  I take my ring off the second I get home. Why does the specs of the ring matter in regards of when you take it off? Just curious.

I take mine off to shower and sleep mostly. I do take it off to do dishes and work out as well. I dont have the specs at all on my rings.

I take mine off to shower. I’m debating whether I’ll wear a stand in at work with my new job or not. If I do, I’ll change back into my real rings as soon as I get home.

My set is 0.40 ctw, and not super high quality or delicate. Just pretty and sparkly!

My ring was 3k and probably appraises for that maybe a little more and I wear it always. It does snag at night which worried me so I started taking it off at night for like a week but I kept forgetting to put it back on! So I wear it to bed now too. I do take it off when putting on lotion then right back on after. I wear it while doing dishes laundry cooking everything! No sense in having a ring if I wasn’t ever gonna wear it!

I take my rings off the minute I get home.  I don’t like to wear it while I’m making dinner.  I also do a lot of yardwork/gardening so rather than get it all dirty or risk knocking a prong on something, I just take it off.  Plus, I get really excited in the morning when I get it put it back on before work.  I have a 2.2 carat oval set in a very thin pave setting.

I only take mine off to shower and clean, and I’ll take it off when I work out half the time. It’s a .8 carat radiant with a halo. I’m not really worried about anything happening to it so I don’t see a problem with wearing it constantly.

Some times I wear mine at home, but never to bed or shower etc.  If I do keep it on at home, I usually take it off after dinner, when I bathe my kids.  Then it goes in it’s case until the next day, after I am done getting ready.

I take mine off when I’m doing dishes or doing something that might damage it. I also don’t sleep with my ring on because I don’t want to scratch FI in the face at night, haha. Erm, I don’t think price and specs has anything to do with how often you take it off and what not. Mine is 0.51ct and $4000.

My ring is a funny size, it is way too loose, but when I have worn it with 2 other rings 1/4 size bigger, they all fit nice and securely, so I don’t want to size down. But I digress.

I take my rings off to shower, wash my hands, wash dishes, and anything else where my hands are in water, just because it’s loose enough that I’m scared I will lose it!

I have a 1ctw ring worth $6500 and I only take my ring off to sleep, swim or work out. I cook dinner in it, shower, apply lotion etc. If you clean it regularly and get the prongs checked it will be fine.

alpinebride:  Of course I want to protect my ring, but I feel like I take it off more to keep it cleaner. I can not stand a dirty ring, it is my pet peeve. My ring is expensive and I wouldn’t want anything to happen to it. However, even if I had a less expensive ring I still think I would take it off when I got home to keep it clean. My specs are 1.62 D VS2 center with another 2.5 cts of D VS mellee set in Platinum.
