OK so the radio station in my home town does this bit all the time and I thought it might be fun to bring it to the board because I had a complete embarrassing moment yesterday. I work for a government agency and so does my mom. We email banter back and forth a lot. So I get this email yesterday about a new pineapple they’ve genetically modified called “pink flesh pineapple”. It was an email from headquarters, but I thought my mom had forwarded it to me because on the top it said “read about this new pineapple” so here’s how the banter went
me: “that pineapple sounds disgusting… pink flesh pineapple ewwww
her: “It might be good. I”m curious how it will taste”
me: Might be good. You try it first!
So I’m looking over my emails today and I get this one
“haha maybe I will and let you know! I wonder where they’ll sell it? Maybe in grocery stores?”
but it was from some really high up person that works in DC. I’m wondering… why is she responding to something I sent my mom… wait…. HOLY CRAP I wasn’t having a conversation with my mom, I was having a conversation with this big higher up the WHOLE time!! Jacked up grammar and all! I am so embarrassed, but also think it is hilarious that she totally was okay responding to my stupid comments about this pineapple. Glad she had a sense of humor but this could’ve been really bad for me.
So my story is more cheeky, but I want to know when has technology gone wrong for you??

Technology screws me every time my boss uses facebook to contact me asking me to do extra hours or come in early the next day! Im expected to be on call 24/7 and check my texts and emails on my phone regularly even when on vacation.
On a funnier side, my husband had to take his personal laptop to work for a presentation and when he opened it up infront of everyone there were bikini shots from our vacation as his background, cringe!

- Wedding: April 2017 - City, State
This didn’t happen to me, but to a friend of mine.
He was working with a difficult client and his boss asked him about it, and he called the client an asshole (or something to that effect) in the email, not realizing the client was CCd on the email. Client contacts his boss and he gets fired. He’s still looking for a job actually. Technology can really get you in trouble at work.

I have a different take on this, since wedding planning is on my mind right now 😛
IMO, I think technology really screws us all, especially at things like planning a wedding. Yeah, it’s great for getting inspiration, but I think it’s a double edged sword. I feel like weddings are a competition now. People are going into debt so they could get their pinterest wedding, and the wedding industry seems to be getting crazier and crazier (people booking out 2 years+ in advanced, etc).
I was too young 10-20 years ago to know how wedding planning was, but I feel like it was likely much different from today and less competitive. I’m curious to hear from other, older brides what their thoughts are.

I was with my mom and she was driving, but I gave her my debit to Tap at Timmie’s. I don’t know what about this tapping concept confused her, but she legit tapped it (for 0.03423 seconds) and wondered why it wouldn’t work. She was also tapping it the same way people used to old school swipe so the reader is nowhere near the card. The guy at the window just started at her lol. She eventually got it, though.

Kate127 : Oh wow! I don’t have any of my coworkers on FB because of that reason. I don’t want them to know what I’m doing haha. That’d be hard to get out of anything. That’s funny about your husband. I could totally see myself doing something like that.
MiniMeow : OH something similar has happened like that at my work too (thankfully not me). That would be way more embarrassing than my pink pineapple haha.
couper : I completely 110% agree it is out of hand. I was tallying up all of the money were spending on this wedding today and it is insane to think about. No wonder all my friends eloped!
WesterosBarbie : That’s funny! That’d be me. I’m still not used to this chip-reader business haha
