When brainstorming all ideas are great, a few get cut out when reality sets in, a few other ideas get sorted into a maybe pile and then you have to work out the ‘I want/must have this’ pile…
When is enough, enough?
I keep looking for new ideas for our Addams Family Wedding, I am a little OCD about the decor and how it will balance out.
I am naturally a dramtic person, I love over the top! And I am creative, artistic and very frugal.
My Fiance is more logical and has simple tastes – expensive but simple. He likes no fuss.
Our biggest problem is the decor, baancing the Gothic Glam, Dark Romance and Elegant Halloween with the ‘Wedding’ vibe.
I dont want to be tacky; well maybe a little tacky but in a fun way – like when an old guilty pleasure song comes on the radio. (Mine are Backstreet Boys & Spice Girls)
Our colors are Jewel Tones – Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Amythist with Silver and Black to add balance.
In a psot I made the other day I was worried about our venue walls being bland and clashing with all the other decor… In the long run who is going to car that the walls where white?
We did have to settle as we dont have a castle or haunted house nearby where we could hold the wedding. Am I having ‘venue regret’? (something like dress regret)
The decor could make up for the lack of the haunted house, but when will I know I have reached that limit?
I love how BIG our venue is, its amazing how HUGE the room is and how awesome the pricing is. Our venue including food, DJ, wedding night, ceremony and reception is $2000ish!!
Which is great right? They have great reviews and not to long ago they renovated.
So this rant I guess has helped me see that maybe I am making the decor an issue because we dont have our dream venue.
Any words of wisdom? Advice?
Maybe someone to shake some sense into me?
