I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was 8. I had a blast and I remember the trip very well, but even by 8 the “magic” wasn’t real to me anymore. My brother was about 5 and while he may not remember he was definitely more enthralled.
I went again as a teen, still had a good time, but felt too old for it. At that age I would have preferred a park with higher-speed rides
Then I went to magic kingdom when I was 31 during a work trip to Orlando and I surprised myself by having the best time!! I feel like I appreciated the magic more than I did as a teenager. It was expensive but I felt like the fast pass/ live app system worked really well. I hardly spent any time in lines at all and got to ride pretty much everything at least once. I went in the summer.
My point is- there are trade-offs at any age. I think the magic is more real at ages where they can’t remember.
