Well the time leading up to valentines day. I got my wedding band from Zales a couple of weeks back and they had some awesome sales on everything. You just have to stalk their stores or ask them when their next big sale is on.

When the Fiance bought my ering from Jared we became close with the sales lady.  She called Fiance when they were having a good sale so he could get my ring at a better price.  She said she would also do the same for our wedding bands!  I would just go in and talk to someone and let them know that you are looking to buy when they have a sale!  I am sure they will work with you!

never! those people are so pushy. been there done that and the only way to be safe with them is to pay cash. cause they will rip you off if you open an account with them. all they care about is making a sale.

@persianprincess: . My E ring and some earrings are from Jared and we never felt pushed or pressured to buy from them.  Any jewelry store could do that.

As for the op, I would think Christmas and Valentines day or even around Mothers day for discounts

Jared both melted my original engagement ring and then tried to switch my diamond.

And, they didn’t do anything about it. Worst nightmare of my life.

my Fiance ordered my e-ring from Jared, was waiting for it for a couple of months. his parents came to visit him, so he took them to the store to show them the ring and check up on the status…..and they had no record of his order in the computer!! he was so pissed!  lucky for me i had seen the ring i wanted at Kays also and told him, so i still got the ring i wanted. But Fiance will never go to Jareds ever again.  it was a little disappointing because we had to get a slightly smaller diamond from Kays than i would have from Jared, but in the end, i love my ring and get to marry Fiance   🙂

At Kay’s, Christmas time and Mother’s day. We are working with Kay’s to create our wedding set. We got $400 bonus money when Fiance bought  my e-ring during the holiday season. We’ll be having my wedding ring/set custom made this spring and they will be “ringing it up” on the register on Mother’s day at the sale. The assit. manager told us that they have two big sales every year- Christmas and Mother’s day. So, she also told us to make my Fiance band next Christmas when there’s another sale.

I also know, that at our Kay’s location, they told us that the rings get sent to Jared’s. That’s where my e-ring went to get the diamond set in a yellow gold band, where it was sent to be sized…apparently they work together but we’ve had a great experience so far.

I had no idea they would be so open or able to customize. I’m so excited because I’ll be able to put my maternal grandmother’s diamond and my e-ring diamond in a 3 stone split shank with embossed engraving work down the banding and the band can be rose gold! I am so thrilled!!

I’m voting for NEVER! Go buy something from a local jewelry store – you will ALWAYS get better service.

I’m also voting never!  I had the worst experience with a diamond bracelet at Kay’s and will never give them another dime.

My Fiance bought my engagement ring at Jared, and we also bought our wedding bands there. We met our salesperson last Christmas when my mom and I went in to look at jewelry for each others’ Christmas presents! We liked her so much my mom gave her name to my fiance. She takes REALLy good care of us, and she let us know when to come in to get the most bang for our buck (we bought our bands at the same time when they were doing a promotion). I’ve never had any problems with them and I love that I can get my ring re-sized anytime for free (including my eternity wedding band…they will order me a new one for free if I ever need it resized).

its always better to support local businesses. personally i would hate getting something so unoriginal from a store where anyone could walk by and buy the same thing you have.
