We always wanted a late fall/winter birth for a similar reason to you. DH travels pretty much all summer long and winters are slower, so that gives him the oppertunity to spent time with me and Jelly Bean once they arrive, before having to kick off the season in April.
Living in Alaska, it will be a bit of a hassle to have a winter baby, and there is the dreaded inevitable storm that will start as we’re drving the 20 minutes to the birth center, but still it’s worth it to us in order to have him home. His company is great and will do their best to arrange things so he can have as much time as possible, but there’s only so much that can be moved since he’s the head of the office.

I would love not to be heavily pregnant in an Australian summer. But I’m not going to wait TTC in order to avoid it as it may take me back to the next summer before we can even fall.

Personally, I would have liked to have a spring baby. After so much time of trying, I didn’t care what time of the year baby was born. Right now, I am due in December with this baby, and even though it wasn’t on my top list of months, I am happy with the way things are working out. No matter what, the time of the year baby is born will be perfect.

I really wanted a summer/spring baby. My birthday is winter and I hate it as its so cold and miserable. I always dreamed of a pool party as a kid haha. We live in Australia so my first baby was due start of Sept which was perfect timing then we lost it and were due again in November and then lost it and then due again in Dec and lost it.
We won’t be able to try again until September which would bring us up to a June winter baby. Which is bad timing as my husband is in tax and that’s end of financial year where he works all hours and can’t have time off plus due to our school year our child would be the youngest in the class and as a teacher i’ve seen kids struggle with that. But if I can successfully keep a child long enough for it to be born I don’t think i’ll care when it happens 😉 I don’t make baby plans anymore as God just seems to laugh!
