We sent ours about 2 months before the wedding.  Almost everyone was out of town but we did send out save the dates about 6 months before the wedding.

For destination weddings, it’s common to send out save the dates 6-12 months ahead of time.  I think if you do Save-The-Date Cards you are ok to stick with the regular ~2 months out for invites.

I think if you’re having a destination wedding you give guests at least 6 months to a year notice, but i’m not entirely sure.

I’ve been slacking too, my wedding invitations are getting mailed tomorrow. I feel like I should’ve mailed them weeks ago =/

They say the norm for sending out invites is 6-8 weeks before your wedding.  I know the knot’s time line says 3 months.  We are sending ours out about 9 weeks ahead of time.

I had two destination wedding invitations this year. Both were sent about 7.5 months prior to the wedding, with the deadline for RSVP falling 6 months before the wedding.
