I’m picking up my invites tonight and I’m so excited about them and want to send them within the next 2 weeks or so.
Saturday is 13 weeks away from the wedding.
I’m sending a few to USA and I’m based in UK… I’ve seen that you can send out of town ones early but I want to send all at same time.
Is 12 weeks too early? Thanks. I know I’m too excited.

I don’t think that’s too early at all! I plan on sending my invites out about three months before my wedding so same time frame as you. I also want all of my rsvps back about a month before my wedding so guests will have two months to respond.

I think 3 months is fine, especially as you prosumably want RSVPs a bit before the wedding.

becks90 : Not too early at all.

becks90 : Definitely not too early. Our venue recommended sending them out 6 MONTHS ahead of the date – we only booked 9 months out so there is no way that will be happening, we are planning 12 weeks too.

I think typically the guidance is 8-10 weeks before the wedding, so I don’t think 12 weeks is absurdly early.
I got a wedding invite in early January for a May wedding, which I did think was insanely early, but to each their own.

Thanks ladies. I’m just over excited. If I have any self control then I’m holding off to the beginning of March but it may not happen.

I sent mine out 10 weeks before the wedding, since you’re so excited you should just send them!

I’ll be sending out my invites next week and my wedding isn’t for another 6 months.

I’ve always thought the earlier the better, then people can plan ahead. Thanks for the tips Bees, I’m still in the process of making my invites.

We sent out invites out almost a year in advance since it was a destiantion wedding, I think that if you are having people travel long distance the sooner they go out the better. There is just so much that some guest have to plan for when traveling that the sooner they know the better.

I’m planning to send mine in the 12-16 week range. Destination wedding with international travel involved for everyone, so they need to go early.

becks90 : Wow! I didn’t realise your wedding was so soon – amazing! I am sending my STD’s this month as it is a year out from the wedding and invites 6 months before but only because our engagement is a year and a half and I want to make sure friends from other countries can come.
