I think it’s still okay.

@luvmyDwight: If it were me, I’d just skip them at this point, but if they’re really important to you or you really want to do them, then go for it!!

I think it’s ok as long as you have at least a couple months between your STD’s and your invitations.

If you want to do them send them ASAP.

I’d say to send them if you’re really into the idea of having save the dates but that it won’t likely benefit your guests much at this point.

I definitely don’t think it’s too late to send them.  I think it’s really weird when I get save the dates over 6 months in advance, it’s almost too far out to really plan travel or anything so I tend to lose track of them anyway when they come so early.  I think 5 months is pretty good timing, and send the invites out with 2-3 months before the wedding.

Skip them.  Your date is not a holiday or destination wedding so you should be fine.  Save the money for something else.

If you are already planning on sending out X-mas cards anyway, then go ahead and combine them (thats how we sent our Save the Dates this month). But if you were not planning on doing it, then save your money.

And then just send out your invitations like 3 months out early so that it gives your guests enough time to plan and ask for time off. But if you have out of state guests (or out of country) then tell them now so they can find cheaper flights.
