So my parents live so far away from us (me and FI) and so do his parents, they’ve never met each other all those years we’ve been together for 3.5 yrs.
We finally got our wedding date set and ceremony/reception place, so to celebrate that…and bc they wanna see each other, we’re planning a big family night.
Btw, I’ve met his parents multiple times and he has also met my parents too. It’s just the parents who have never seen each other.
Additionally, I’m Korean American and my parents are still kina traditional that they view this first time parents meeting is a big deal..like.. a super serious one where you’d pull your super formal wear and everything. Anyway, my mom’s thinking that she needs to bring them some gifts.
First of all, I’m not even sure if that’s “normal” to bring them a gift–sure, it’s a nice guesture, but is that what people do usually?
And if it’s a thing,. what gifts would be nice/appropriate? I have no idea 🙁
Did y’alls parents bring gifts for your future in laws when they met for the first time?
Thanks in advance.
Have a great day!
