Im getting married next june so I dont know when the ideal time to shop for bridesmaid dresses would be? At first I was thinking October but then I thought that’s too early what if they gain or lose weight so then I was thinking what about in december? That would give them enough time to save up and then if the dress has to be ordered it gives it time to come in and then get alterations done a few months before the wedding. What do you think?

I have the same question. My wedding isn’t until next September, but I’ve already had my sister go and look. But I was wondering also because 2 of my bridesmaids might try to get prego! So I don’t want to do anything too early!

I was just thinking the same thing!! My matron of honor is pregnant and due mid January and now I just found out one of my bridesmaids is due in April!!! I was hoping to have the girls try on dresses after the babies, but I don’t think that is possible being that I’m getting married mid October ???

Latest would be 3 months prior to your wedding date. Don’t worry about getting it too early as long as they’ll keep their shape or they get a size bigger than they normally wear cuz they can always alter it.

Six months before should be enough and not too much. People change sizes, but dresses can be altered.

My wedding is in March, and I am getting my girl’s dresses in November. 4 months is perfect. I would not suggest getting them in December because of the holidays. However, if you already have the ones you would like for them to wear picked out, I would most definately get them before the first of the year, because alot of bridal stores get all new dresses, and they may not be able to get the ones you like. Plus, they will be super busy and you may have to wait longer than normal.
