I’m having events on Dec 26th in India before my Dec 28th wedding (Sunday). When should I have the groom’s family people arrive? Since it is a destination do you think a little earlier or just if they come in by Dec 26th morning or Dec 25th it should be okay. What is the concensus? (The Dec 26th event is a night party)

I don’t know what international flights are like around the holidays, but in the US if you miss a flight (or it is cancelled) sometime Christmas week, it can be a day to two before you can get another flight. If I was flying to a wedding that time of year, and absolutely had to be there, I would go a minimum of 3-4 days in advance. The airports are always an unholy mess that week, and everything is overbooked, and you can almost guarantee that your luggage will be misrouted or simply left behind (often on purpose, because the plane is overweight) somewhere along the way.

I say at least the day before. Time changes could cause havic on your system.

I fly on Christmas day (the 25th) all the time and its great, very quiet. Now that’s just within the us, so international may be different. But it will certainly be less crazy than the few days BEFORE Christmas. I think arriving on the 25th would be fine, but I do agree that on the off chance there are delays, it wouldn’t be enough time. So I’m not sure what to suggest – the 25th will likely have less problems, but also less time to fix any that do happen, and before will have a lot more problems but more time to fix them…: well, definitely pack the important clothes in a carryon!
