Don’t get me wrong I love my dress, it is beautiful and exactly what I wanted to walk down the aisle and get married in. However, it’s not exactly the most easy dress to get “jiggy” in. So to that end i bought a reception dress (actually a white ballroom salsa dress) that is more suited to the kind music and dancing my Fiance and I can do (both of us are Puerto Rican, salsa runs in our blood) anywhoo…Was wondering when it would be most approriate to change from my formal gown into my cha cha dress? Any ideas? Thanks bees!

I would recommend that you change after your first dance. But, others may have different ideas.

I also have a reception dress and have decided to change into it after all the “formal” stuff is done. aka Father daughter dance, cake cutting, first dance. Then its all my marilyn Monroe famous look a like white dress! I thought having myself still in my stunning wedding gown for the formal stuff is the best bet. I’m sure you will be stunning no matter what you decide 🙂 best of luck!

How funny those were the types of dress i was thinking of! We dance salsa and i actually have a very sexy marilyn dress too…but ithought I’d be sad to be out of my wedding dress…It’s so funny to see brides getting jiggy with it in their big ol dresses!

Good idea to wait after all the formal stuff is done. I actually had a talk with the MC/DJ of the venue about getting things humming right along anyhow. My reception starts at 8pm and goes till 1am so I’m figuring I’ll be out of my gown around 10ish? I love the Marilyn style dress too. My wedding down is a Maggie Sottero Rehearsal Dinner1044…long chiffon very flowy and goddessy (is that a word?). The second dress is chiffon as well, corset backed but short in the front a little longer in the back. Actually I think I have a pic…I do! Here it is:
and I even have the same shoes!!! I’m so happy both my dresses are chiffon.

Hi! Can you please tell me where and how I can purchase this reception dress? I am in love with this dress and would love to wear it during my wedding reception on December 1, 2012 in Puerto Rico.
