From what people keep telling me, the sooner the better! Are you sending out save the dates? If so, it’s a good idea to have at least a very basic registry to start with by the time you send out your Save-The-Date Cards, because some people will want to send you a gift right away. Then, as you get closer to the wedding, you can expand your registry as you please.

Just my advice! The sooner the better! My wedding is a month before yours, and we’re getting ready to send out our Save-The-Date Cards in the next few weeks, so we’ll be registering in that time frame.

You want to make sure the things you register for the company-ies still have them when people go to buy.

Wow, this is good to know. We are sending Save the dates soon and have yet to register. I better get on that.

We registered about 3 weeks ago and are sending save the dates this week. Sooner the better is my motto too, especially with having a friday wedding!

The only reason I can see to wait is because of Christmas crowds – I would go the first week of January, when the crowds and Christmas goods are out of the stores, and they are back to normal stock.

We were going to wait until after Christmas so all the seasonal items could go away, but most people around me said we should be registered now.  I started one registry and plan to expand at a later date

we are getting married in august too and we registered a couple weeks ago because our parents wanted to get some stuff off of it for christmas. it was so much fun! you should be fine to register whenever, you just need to keep tabs on stuff to make sure they don’t get discontinued or anything.

Register when you can before shower invites go out.  In my experience the shower attendants did not shop until a few days before the shower!

You can and should register ASAP.  Definitely don’t register any later than when invitations go out.  I recommend DepositAGift.com  You can register for anything you want with no obligation to actually buy that specific thing.  Perfect for honeymoon registries.  I love it and have one myself.  😉
