We booked our venue over a year ahead of time. And even then we couldnt get the date we wanted, because it had started filling up so quickly.

I would schedule a tour now 🙂

Our wedding isn’t until August 2013 and we’re booking it now. A good number of their Spring 2013 dates are already gone. I think it depends on how popular/in demand the venue is, and how set you are on a specific date. I would say, the sooner the better.

We booked over a year out as well. But the first thing to do is compile a guest list and budget. We didn’t sign anything until we were 100% certain that we could afford the prices and that everyone we wanted to invite would be able to fit. (Always plan for 100% attendance just in case).

I would go ahead and do it now! We booked our venue a year and a half in advance! I told Fiance I wanted to book before all the Valentine’s Day engagements starting setting their summer wedding dates for next year lol

It really depends on the venue location and its demand. We got engaged in December and booked in January for a September 2013 wedding. Our venue, in late February, is already booked through mid-December of 2013. It’s insane. But it’s a pretty competative market.

We got engaged in December and when I went to book our venue for our September wedding, there was only 1 date left that was available. If you’re 100% sure on the date you want I’d do it asap.

Book the tour now! It doesn’t commit you to anything and you will know if this is the venue you want. If it is, and you know your budget will accomodate this choice, book asap.

I would say ASAP. We also booked our venue well over a year in advance. Some other vendors we talked to were already booked for the following spring! I mean, I guess it also depends on where you live and what kind of venue you’re looking at. It seems like early is never bad in the wedding world…

ASAP!  At least around here, the really great venues start booking up 1.5 years in advance.  If you really want that date then by all means tour the venue now and book if it’s “the one”.

I agree – ASAP!!  we booked our venue 15 mos out, and we were lucky to get it!  We took the last available date they had for 2012.

Schedule now…. We scheduled last April and our wedding is this June. We toured five venues and two of them already had our date booked.

I agree to schedule now! If you want the venue and you want it on the date you picked out, the earlier you tour and book the better!
