My wedding is December 31, 2010. I am trying to figure out when to send my save the dates. We are inviting around 380. About 70% of our guests are out of town. I live in Missouri, so the weather is very unpredictable. I already have ordered 200 save the dates.
Thanks in advance 🙂

I think you should send them maybe 9 months out. Since it is around the holidays and most of your guests are out of town, you want to give them a lot of advance notice about the upcoming wedding. There will still probably be people that can’t make it because of the time of the year but that’s the best way to get a good number of guests to come.

Since most of your guests are from out of town, I would send them out about 8-9 months before the wedding.

Almost 100% of our guests (as well as us!) are out of town and I am sending the STD’s next week. It will be 8 months until the wedding, seemed like a reasonable amount of time.

I agree with the PP, I’d say 8-9 months out is pretty reasonable if you have a lot of Out of Town guests for a holiday wedding.

Funny I can’t follow my own advice. I have a lot of out of town guests for my June 11, 2010 wedding and I still haven’t sent my Save-The-Date Cards. Gotta love procrastination!

I had really hoped to send mine out in late October (before the holidays) for our August 2010 wedding. But now I am aiming for after the New Year, maybe 2nd week of January.
