I wouldn’t consider having your wedding on Halloween to be a “holiday weekend wedding”.  People aren’t usually traveling or making big plans on Halloween like they are for Christmas, or the 4th of July.  Typical rule of thumb is to send invites about 8 weeks before the wedding (so I voted end of August) and have the RSVP deadline 4 weeks ahead of time.  If you send them now people will think “oh that’s so far off I don’t know for sure what my plans are and there is no rush to send it back” and then it will end up in a pile of papers and never make it’s way back to you.

@Moose1209: I agree. It’s  not the kind of holiday that people usually have out of town plans for. End of August will be absolutely fine.

@Moose1209: I agree, 2 months ahead. It gives them a good heads up for planning and you enough time to deal with the receiving and the running after those who do not respond by the one month deadline.
