6-12 months out is typical.  You still have plenty of time.

My wedding is in November and I sent mine out last month. I have a ton of Out of Town guests though!

I’ve heard sending out save the dates 6-8 months before the wedding is typical.  We just sent out ours for our September wedding — over half our guests will be coming from out of town, so we wanted them to have enough time to plan.

We’re getting married in September and we sent ours out at the end of February. We have a handful of out of towners and it’s also a holidy weekend!

We’re getting married the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, so we sent our Save the Dates about eight months out.

We JUST sent ours out and our wedding is in August.  We have a lot of Out of Town family, but everyone we are really close to already had the date down.

We got engaged in April ’10 and I sent out the save the dates last June.  It was right after we locked in the date with the hall. I didnt want to wait.  Our wedding is before a holiday and I wanted to make sure people were aware so they could plan vacations etc accordingly.  Oh, and FYI, I designed our STD cards on the Vista Print website.  They have tons of options to choose from.  They ALWAYS offer free items but you only pay for shipping.   I was able to get our STD cards for FREE!  The shipping cost me $3.60.  Can you beleive it?  And they look great.  The one thing I love about the site is you can view your design before you approve.  I also ordered a T shirt and bag for myself that says Soon To Be Mrs. Berry. I wore it the day my BM’s and I went dress shopping.  Loved it!!
