So, my guest list for the big day is 210 and 40% are out of state. I am FOR SURE sending a STD, but I’m not sure when to send them. I was thinking the first week of February. Is that too late? What do you think?

80% of my guests were out of state, and we sent ours in the beginning of January for our September wedding. So, I would send them as soon as possible. You want people to be aware of your wedding date before they start making summer travel plans. For example, i’ve already booked a 2-week trip to Iceland over your wedding date – good thing i’m not one of your guests!

We sent ours out around November for our June wedding when pretty much everyone was out of town.

Almost all my family will be from out of state, and I plan to invite at least thirty people from overseas (England, Japan, possibly Australia and South Africa). I plan to send my STDs out as soon as possible after we’ve pinned down the official date – eleven or twelve months before the wedding. I want to give them as much notice as possible so they don’t plan anything else and can have time to save and make travel arrangements.

10-12 months before yur date is typical. The fact that they are out of the area is irrelevant.
