We are getting married this October, booked our wedding planner last January and had our venue booked in March. We are getting married in a really busy wedding area, and ours was the only weekend still available in October when we booked the venue.

Contacting vendors as soon as you can will give you a better selection to choose from AND help lock in this year’s rates!

It’s never too early to start calling places and booking them, as depending on your area – they could book up fast!

I got engaged in February and we made the decision to get married this Fall since a couple of our reception venues still had availability. We had the major stuff all booked by mid-April.

ASAP October is a hot wedding month. When we moved from Feb to October at the 1 year out from October mark the first weekend we asked for was being raffled off at disney they had 8 couples that wanted the time slot we wanted! Find your Venue as soon as possible, a photographer, and the caterer.

ASAP like the others said! You would be surprised how fast venues book dates that are far away, especially for October. I was engaged June 2012, booked my venue August 2012 and was married April 2014. The venue told me there was another bride who wanted my date that far in advance as well!

We were on almost the same timeline… Engaged in May 2013, thought we’d wait for 2015… then we decided to bump it up to October 2014!

October is a SUPER popular wedding month these days. We’d booked our venue by August the year before, and the caterer and photographer followed soon after. It’s never too soon to start looking at vendors!

FutureMrsKap:  I would start calling now! This way, it’s more likely you’ll get the vendors that you want and not be “stuck with” the ones that are available.

If I weren’t going to Vegas to get married, yeah calling people more than a year in advance would be a good idea.

Part of the reason I wanted to find a venue in Vegas, they helped out with the reception and the ceremony. I don’t have to deal with caterers or flower people or figuring out what to serve the guests. Everything is taken care of by them 🙂
