If it’s implantation spotting, I would wait 2 or 3 days to test since it will take time for the hormones to build up enough. It could just be breakthrough bleeding since you haven’t had AF in a while. Or it could be ovulation spotting. Are you breastfeeding?

Whew, 10 months without a period and I’d be peeing on sticks every few weeks anyway just to be sure! Even with BFing, that seems like a long time to go without a visit from AF. I would do one test now just to put your mind at ease, and then take it from there. This could very well be your body’s first weak attempt at a period.

I found that the way my body handled AF changed completely after giving birth. I used to be a standard 5 days medium-to-light flow kind of gal, with nasty cramps; now, it pours out like Niagara Falls for a day and a half and it’s gone without a moment of cramping. So whatever your body did in the past tells you nothing now, haha. You need to figure out what the new normal is, and I’d be reassuring myself that I’m not pregnant again for sure!
