I have 2 bridesmaids TTC.  I’ve given them cloth swashes and I’m letting them decide their dress since we have no idea if they will be pregnant, still trying, or holding a baby at my wedding.

If you go to a bridal store, they can give your recommendations for dresses that will work with a pregnant belly.  Time it the way you would for a regular bridesmaid dress, giving yourself some wiggle room for alterations.

I would go and try dresses on, ones that will suit non pregnant BMs and ones that will, and then narrow your choice down to 1 of each and then wait until nearer the time to purchase one.

My sister was pregnant when she was my bridesmaid and then just told her to order big. We went dress shopping in May and the wedding was in October. You just order a couple of sizes up and then take it in if you need.

One of my bridesmaids is TTC, we are not going dress shopping for them untill 9 months out. She may get pregnant and give birth before we get married, since our wedding is 12 months out now. If she doesnt get pregnant at 9 months then we are ordering big and with something with room incase.

I’m a bridesmaid 3 weeks after my due date…yikes.  The bride hasn’t picked dresses yet but I’m going to buy a few sizes up and then do the alterations 1 week before.  It won’t be perfect but I’m sure your friend would rather have you as a bridesmaid then fit perfectly in the dress.

Right now, at 7 months, I would need 2 sizes up from my normal size but everyone is different.  I grew 3 cup sizes in the first 8 weeks so I would recommend accounting for that.  You can always alter a dress smaller but can’t go bigger so give yourself lots of room.  If she picks a dress from a store like Jcrew or Ann Taylor, you could buy 2 sizes and then return one later.

@Beeatch:  That’ll work!  It’ll give you room to grow in the belly and the drapping will be very flattering.

One of my BMs will be 38 weeks pregnant at my wedding!

She just bought her dress. It’s two sizes up from what she’s wearing now (and maternity, of course) She’s a big girl, though, so the doctor doesn’t really want her to gain much during the rest of her pregnancy, anyway!

One of my bridesmaids is due on our wedding day. So she ordered very big. We’re just hoping she can keep the baby in Until after we say I do!
