I think its good to register before your bridal shower  so people know where to get you gifts from! I’ve also heard before you send out your formal invitation is a good time also as guests will ask where you are registered!

i started our registry online, as some of our families and close friends have access to our wedding website that we’re still putting together…

we’ll probably be going in person in the next few weeks to finish up our registry listings. 🙂

I just registered online at a couple places.  I wanted to have it at least started before my Save-The-Date Cards go out, since the STD will have our wedding website address and I wanted some registry info to be there when people started going to the site.  I don’t think it’s too early if you feel like getting started…

i think it’s nice to at least have it started before you send out save the dates. we’re only registering at one place, so we went to the store, picked out everything, and now we’re just updating it online whenever we think of something else or want to change something. its nice that we can continue to update it, but it’s also available for guests to view if they want.

My Fiance and I just registered this last weekend.  Or at least started to . . . we went to two stores but we need to flesh out the registries at those two as well as pick a third place still (one where we can do small electronics)

I made a small one online as soon as we got engaged because people kept asking us to so they could buy engagement gifts. We’ll prob. make a larger one in the next month or so.

Definitely before shower invites go out.  We’re starting the process at the end of February.

I’ve read on various checklists that 6-9 months out is the norm, so if you wanted to start now or soon I’m sure it’d be fine.  We’re still planning on waiting a few months.

Probably in May.  We had registered in May/June for an October wedding.  Some of the items were discontinued though by the time our wedding rolled around.  As long as you do it about 1 – 2 months before your first shower I think you’d be fine.  It takes awhile to sort everything out so give yourself a month at least.

How many of you have had guests ask about registries early on or even send gifts already?

I just got engaged, and a couple people have inquired about my address, but I’ve given registries no thought yet.  (Honestly, house wares bore me compared to clothes shopping, but I’ve been told I can’t register for shoes and accessoriesUndecided.  haha!)

I haven’t really had anybody ask yet. We just did our first registry this weekend and will probably finish the rest next weekend.

Go for it sister!  You never know what people will want to look at it after they get the Save the Date.  Better to be prepared with some stuff now then to rush later.
