We registered at 7-8 months out because the bridal shower was ridiculously early (end of March for a mid-August wedding). There’s no harm in looking now to decide what you want to put on a registry, or starting a registry now and updating it as time goes on. You just have to be committed to checking the registry for discontinued items, etc.

I think we did ours in late January, so 5 months before. We only waited that long because we wanted to wait til the Holidays were over.

You can start one whenever really!

We reisgtered about six months out. It worked well – someone actually bought something off our registry as soon as they got our Save the Date! If you register too early, you run the risk of stock changing and items becoming unavailable. Looks like you could get your registry started now. Just be prepared to keep an eye on it and maintain it between now and your showers and wedding. 🙂

@rachels7683:  we’re registered at target! Our wedding is in August and my shower is in July and people started asking about our registry this month, so we went out and got it done. I would say depending on how early you’re shower might be, five months is a good minimum

I’m a June 2014 bride but we will register before my birthday this August. People have already been asking about it whenever there’s gift giving occasions so I figured I’d start early with stuff that isn’t likely to change (keurig, dyson, toasting flutes, Etc.) It’s different for everyone! Good luck:)

we registered once we set a date, so in february for our july wedding, and then monitored it for things going out of stock or product number changes. now that shower invites went out I stopped looking until after that.
