I tried to get my florist ASAP. We booked him in February for our May 2017 wedding. I also wanted to make sure I got my top picks for vendors.

I have no idea but I’ve seen some bees on here a year plus out and already have them booked.  I feel like there is some selection bias here on the bee since we are all so anal about our weddings so idk if that’s normal or not. It definitely made me step things up though and I think I need to make some appointments!

ETA I do know that most wedding timelines I’ve seen suggest booking florist about 9 months in advance.

I booked mine in June 2016 and am getting married July 2017.  There are only 2 florists in the isolated mountain town we are getting married so I wanted to make sure it was taken care of!

I’m getting married on December 3rd and booked my florist back in May. In Australia, spring is wedding season so vendors tend to book out quickly – even though we’re technically getting married in early summer it’s still so close to the peak season that we wanted to get in early and make sure that we got one we loved.

holabride2018 :  I used one of the most popular florists in my area about 6-7 months before our wedding

I booked ours 30 days before the wedding and lucked out big time. I was going to DIY and then I faved reality. Our florist was awesome, available and affordable. She even teaches floral design at the local university. I don’t recommend waiting that long, though.

4 months prior but lucked out she was available. I procrastinated a little on the florist, but worked out. If popular, probably at least 6-8 months, maybe 1 year?

I booked everything 13-14 months in advance. The only thing to wait for is make sure you have your budget (duh), venue, guest list (so you can estimate head count for quotes), and a vision. Once you have that you can talk to florists and see if they can do what you are envisioning and maybe even build on it.

eta: I didn’t follow any timeline. As the great Benji F once said: don’t leave till tomorrow what you can do today. I was super busy, and didn’t want to waste time, so I got all my wedding ducks in a row 14 months out and didn’t think too much about the wedding until a few months before when final details needed to be handled (though I still hung out on the bee the whole time lol). Highly recommend it.. I found wedding planning to be a breeze, by en large.

I’m a year out from my wedding and we have not booked our florist yet. I’ve contacted a couple regarding consultations, but since right now is wedding season and a super busy time for them, none of them are doing consultations until September/October. We’ll probably end up booking about 9 months out from the wedding.

holabride2018 :  We booked ours about a year before and they already had some dates filling up. I think it all depends on the time of year of your wedding and how popular the florist is.

I booked my florist July 2015 and we are getting married this coming April. 1, with it being prom season I wanted to be sure I could be done and 2, very popular florist.

We booked our florist once we had our ceremony and venue booked, since she was doing decor and flowers.
