so we’re having cocktail hour at 4pm and we’ll arrive at 5pm…
A) do the first & FD dances right away and then settle in for dinner
2) come in, pop a few apps, begin dinner (buffet), and then dance
Cat) First dance after coming in, dinner, and then father-daughter dance?
oh, and when are the toasts? before dinner or after everyone’s gone through the buffet line? HALP!!

I had a hard time deciding that too..we are going with option 2

It depends on your photographer really, the traditional timeline is entrance, speeches, dinner, cake, dances, general dancing.
If your photographer has time constraints many people do their entrance, then the cake cutting, then the dances, then dinner.
Its up to you, if you dont have issues with your photographers time, I think it flows better with the traditional timeline.

We’re going to do:
Wedding party entrace
Father daughter dance, and Fiance will join in with his mom
Speeches during dinner

I would say option two. My venue had us do the toasts right after we cut the cake.

@Annabelle86: good call on the photog – we have her until 7 which should be good. although since we’re feeding her, maybe she’ll be eating during dinner and we can get another half hour or so.
i think we’ll be able to fit it all in to timeline #2, but we’ll have to cut cake at like 6:30 or so… i’ll definitely ask her what’s doable – i don’t want it to seem rushed!
