We have the marriage liscense!
However, we aren’t sure when to tie the knot. We can’t move in together until Sept. 17th, but my step-cousin and his wonderful Fiance are getting married Sept. 18th. I feel like getting married so close to them would be kind of rude…and I LOVE the bride! She is darling!
Should we elope now and just keep it secret? Wait until September? What do you think?

Can you just move in together in September and then wait a month or so to get married?

He all the sudden wants to get married before we move in together…our “friends” have made him feel like that is the morally right thing to do.

How long is the marriage license good for? I think that varies from state to state?? Have you decided where, and what you are wearing and anything else that is important to the both of you? 🙂

Yes, we have all the details worked out but the date! The marriage liscense is good for 60 days. We applied for it yesterday! EEEK I’m excited but I don’t want to be a jerk to the other bride!

The other bride doesn’t own september or august or any month for that matter. as long as you don’t like, get married at their wedding or something everything should be fine. get married in august or early september before he moves in (if thats what you want to do).

What do YOU want? Do you want to have a wedding ceremony with family/friends now or do you want to keep it quiet, sign the liscenes and have the actual wedding later? (Some people don’t feel married until after the ceremony. Others have to put off the actual wedding with family and friends until later for various reasons.)
Here’s what I would do: sneak off and get married. No one needs to know and, this close to the other bride’s wedding, she might feel upset/angry/disappointed with this “surprise” and sudden wedding. If anyone of the friends give him grief, he can say you two are married and watch their stunned faces. 😀
Do what you two think is best and go for it!

@mrsv2be:
Yeah, I was also thinking What do the two of you want?? I like the idea of telling your “so-called friends” that you are already married-and watching their stunned faces too!
