you don’t want to do it too close to the wedding just in case you’re not happy with it and need to have it corrected. but if you do it too far in advance you risk having an obvious demarcation line from your new growth. i would say 3 or 4 weeks before.

What about bayalage highlights? They are the new ombre/lower highlight trend in a lot of places especially LA/NYC….the highlight is done further down your hair and it looks awesome! I would still go 2 weeks before, incase you need a change regardless of the highlight style you chose.

I would wait until after. IMO hair changes before the wedding can be disastrous.

i think 2 weeks might be cutting it a little close. if you’re confident in your stylist and it’s a service he/she has done on you before, it might be ok. for me it would be too risky.

I would vote 1 week, but not more than 2 weeks before.

@BellaDee:  This is what I have.  It looks great down….but unfortunately for me, once my hair is up it looks like I have 2 totally different colours on my head.  So I’m putting it back to my natural colour before the wedding.

if it’s not drastic for you, and you know your stylist i would say 2-3 weeks to make sure it is more subtle but doesn’t grow out too much.  make sure you use good conditioner/shampoo so it lasts longer too.

@cdncinnamongirl:  Oh really? You can usually get it furthur up the head to avoid that!

3 weeks to a month before your wedding. Enough time to fix it if things go wrong, but not enough time for hair to grow out and ruin your wedding day look.
