Am a brit hindu, engaged to a lovely canadian christian – thus essentially planning 2 events: hindu (&legal) ceremony in england and few months later a christian ceremony/service in canada. Trying to do both ‘properly’ but starting to getting stuck on details…
Hindu ceremony in england involves a hindu wedding necklace (thali) and toe rings, so no place for the traditional exchange of wedding rings during ceremony. Wondering whether we should exchange rings during the legal registration bit (which isn’t a big deal for us but more like a ‘must-do’ & only immediate family present) prior to the reception the next day.
Wait a couple of months until the christian (baptist) service in canada and exchange rings properly then. By this time we will already be legally married, so not sure how this would affect the ceremony.
