It’s a know your guests kind of thing. We have gifts or our registry and are expecting 98% of our guests not to buy anything off it since in our circle you bring cash/check in a card day of.

I’ve never given a gift prior to the wedding (with exception of bridal shower). I have always brought a gift, even a cash gift, on the day of.

I’d give a check on the wedding day, even though I don’t find honeymoon funds “offensive” or anything, the way some bees do–it’s just what I’d do.

Physical gifts I send when I RSVP, typically (because i’m on the website where the registry is anyway).

Expect? Never.

But if people are wanting to buy a gift then it’s usually two weeks ahead, at most. Your wedding will not be their priority just yet. Most will gift you on the day as they see fit. These registries can really throw some people. It’s like shaking your presents before Christmas day! Try to disengage from logging in to check as whatever will be will be.

Good luck with your honeymoon planning!
