I would go off the pill in May, and use condoms or FAM until you start trying in August, thus giving you 3 months off the pill to regulate.

I’ve been on the pill for about 13 years and recently asked my doctor the same question.

Her advice: Do not go off the pill until you are absolutely ready to be pregnant. There is no set time for your cycle to regulate. Some people will ovulate right away and get pregnant, some people will take a little while before having normal cycles. So she stressed to not do it in anticipation of trying unless we were really ready. She also had me start taking prenatal vitamins now even though I don’t plan to go off the pill until July/August.

Donʻt go off the pill until you are ready to be pregnant.

That being said my body is still irregular 18 months later after 11 years on the pill.

ASAP, I feel sooooo much better being off the pill. No but in all honesty I was very hormonal, anxiety through the roof, for about 4 weeks after going off it. So wait til after the crazy work period.
