I bought my bridesmaids matching necklaces and earrings. I’m thinking of giving it to them the day of the rehearsal. I want it to be a surprise, but I’m worried some of them will go out and buy jewelery. Should I tell them what I got them or give it to them sooner? My maid of honor lives out of town so I actually can’t give it to her early.
What is everyone else doing??

I think traditionally, people give the gifts at the rehearsal dinner. But, if you’re worried, you could just give everyone their gifts early (sending it to the out-of-towner, of course). I think it is totally fine. My friend that just got married gave her girls jewelry at the rehearsal dinner, and it worked out fine. They still wore that jewelry to the wedding, and nobody grumbled about having already bought jewelry.

I might indicate to the gals that they don’t need to worry about jewelry. With how much $$ BMs put into a wedding, I’d hate for them to waste any.
This is a good question, though, as I intended to buy my girls’ jewelry as well.

I’m doing a bridal party meet-and-greet. Just a small luncheon with just the girls. I got them their handbags in their color. I wrapped them in a box with a bridesmaid catalog and color swatch. I’m pre-emptively doing the thank you gift because I know they would all get one and they weren’t terribly expensive.
