A group of family friends always plan the bridal showers and I think they are probably doing mine in June for our August wedding. They gave my sister in law’s in April for her wedding at the end of of May. But I don’t think there is any hard and fast rule. I personally probably wouldn’t want to do it more than 2-2.5 months before the wedding, but again, that’s just me – not a rule. Hope that helps 🙂

There are many types of showers-household is just one of them.

Traditionally the shower was held to help the bride set up housekeeping. Nowadays, many brides have lived on their own for while, as have many grooms, and may not need the traditional tea towels, etc.

Some bridal shower themes are around the clock, kitchen ,lingerie, barbeque, stock the bar, camping shower, wine cellar, etc etc etc
