Our ceremony was @ 3:00 and the florist delivered the flowers between 11 and 12- they still looked great by the time our wedding started! They actually still looked pretty good for a few more days.

honestly, i know it seems like this is a huge deal and i totally understand bc i was very stressed about it too but i wish i had just listened to my florist bc she was totally right!  (we had a unique situation where we were married at the courthouse and then later got to have 2 additional ceremonies and receptions in different parts of the country with different family members present – 2 sets of divorced parents who can’t stand each other – drama!)  for the second reception we had a summer (VERY HOT summer), nighttime ceremony and reception (started at sundown) and our flowers were supposed to be delivered at 5 pm.  however, 3 days before the ceremony our florist called and her husband’s father had passed away very unexpectedly so we were told the flowers would be delievered by 8 am the day of the wedding.  our florist was fantastic and offered to have another floral company honor our contract for the same price, etc. but i didn’t feel good about that since she had done all the design, etc. and she is a small, local florist who def deserved the money.  in addition, it wasn’t like she was changing the contract for any reasons she could help.  she kept promising me that even delivered at 8 am, they would look great all day and night.  i was so worried because we didn’t have room to refrigerate everything (my bouquet, hubby’s boutonniere, our daughters’s bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, numerous corsages and men’s boutonnieres, centerpieces, ceremony flowers) and the flowers would just be sitting in the basement in water for almost 12 hours.  i decided to trust her and i am so glad i did!  not only were the flowers (which were roses, cala lilies, sunflowers, and hydrengeas) beautiful all day and all night and for several days after as well, the florist also ended up not charging me for the second half of the money i owed her on our contract bc she said i was so accomadating about it (while secretly freaking out, lol!).  so i would make sure your flowers are there well in time for when you need them and not worry about them not lasting.  quality flowers and arrangements are meant to last.  good luck and congrats!

We had ours delivered at 2pm for a 5pm ceremony and they held up through the wind and rain and looked great the next day ( Mother’s Day), so all of the moms were given a bouqet to take of our wedding flowers.

@Mrs_Amanda:  what a great idea that you gave flowers to the Mom’s since the next day was Mother’s Day – awesome!

Florist knows best. For my sister’s wedding they arrived literally at the very last second we needed them right before pictures. Ask for 10 am if you’re feeling stressed about it – the 30 minutes shouldn’t make a huge difference.
