I didn’t have a bridal shower but all the ones I’ve been to have been about a month or two before the wedding.

My shower is 4 weeks before my wedding. We were going to do it earlier, but my Mother-In-Law is hosting and the majority of the people she was inviting couldn’t make it on the original date, so she moved it to a date that worked for more of her guests.

Since it is so close to my wedding, it’s not practical for any of my out of town guests to travel for both the shower and the wedding that close together, so that’s definitely something to consider if you have a lot of guests from out of town.

I just had mine on April 7 and my wedding is May 24. We wanted to aim for about 2 months prior to the wedding (would’ve been around March 24) but we also didn’t want snow (I live in Wisconsin) so we pushed it into April. It went very well and helped amp up the hype for the wedding for sure! It’s made this time leading up to the wedding even more exciting.

I think doing it any sooner than 2 months prior to the wedding is just too soon (personal opinion) because I liked how this made everyone so excited and they all kept saying (see you next month for the wedding!)

However, I have also seen other people do it 3-4 months before the wedding because it’s like another sort of party and then they had some downtime prior to their bigger party (actual wedding).

My shower is June 22 and my wedding is August 17. We’re hosting mine a bit earlier as my Maid/Matron of Honor is also getting married so we decided to try to stagger wedding related events so it would not be as expensive for all our friends and family.

Mine is 2 months before my wedding. I think standard is 4-8 weeks before the wedding. My mom was set on this particular date for some reason, I probably would’ve picked a week or two later so that it would be more like 6 weeks before.

Well my first shower was scheduled for right before Christmas (wedding March 23rd), and we exchanged the shower for a funeral, unfortunately. So that shower was rescheduled for late January (2mos before the wedding), and my other shower was right after Christmas, because that was when all of my family was home. So we just did it then! It was really about availablility of family.

I am getting married January 17th, and my shower is on November 23rd! Didn’t wanna do it in December since people will be busy with christmas stuff. The original plan was Nov 30 since it’s the day after my birthday, but that’s thanksgiving weekend so we moved it up 🙂

I actually had mine pretty early. So I had mine about three months before my wedding and that was really just because I was trying to avoid the month before my wedding to relax and also because I was busier the following months. It also just worked out better for my bridal party’s schedules to have it then. I see people do theirs one to two months ahead of the wedding though normally.

I would say just gage how busy your own schedule is. If you already have a lot going on one or two months before your wedding then it is ok to do it earlier. The countdown from engaged to wedding day goes by a lot faster than you think so people regardless will be excited no matter when it is.
