When is the appropriate time for a bridal shower? I am thinking it should happen in the next month or so for our July wedding but we have been told that is too early. Other people have said a few weeks before is too close to the wedding. So, I am confused. When is the shower supposed to be?

I’m having mine about 2 months before our wedding… That seems to be standard in my circle. March might be a bit soon… maybe in April or May?

August bride here! We are having our wedding shower in May… and I am having my bridal shower in July. You can do your shower whenever you see fit! Don’t let everyone tell you it’s too soon or too late. 🙂

@kfricke89: My family is a little different than most lol We never throw engagement parties but do have wedding showers/bridal showers… We do wedding showers, where my family and close friends bring our wedding gifts (things we register for). This is for men, women, children, well everyone.
The bridal shower is just for women… the gifts include PJs or lingerie.
Any excuse to get everyone together 🙂
