5:30AM on Sunday - sleep on the plane and you'll be fine!

5:30AM on Monday - you'll be way too tired, wait another day!

We’re leaving early the next morning. Fiance really wanted to do it that way, I would have preferred to wait a day. However, I think it will be neat that we will instantly go from wedding day to honeymoon bliss. Once we get there we can just relax (and sleep lol)

Our flight was at 7:00 the next morning, and while we were exhausted, it was a pretty amazing feeling to still be on our “wedding high” all the way through our honeymoon. ๐Ÿ™‚ To conquer some of the logistics, we stayed at the airport hotel on our wedding night. It’s a perfectly nice hotel, and it had a shuttle that took us to the airport in the AM.

We left a day later and were so grateful for that extra day! It gave us time to pack, lounge around, spend time with out-of-town family members, etc. I’m so glad we waited! We didn’t get to sleep until 3:30 am after our wedding!

P.S. We went to St Lucia for our honeymoon and it was AWESOME! PM me if you have any questions! ๐Ÿ™‚

Our wedding was Saturday, and we left Monday. But we spent Sunday at Disney World with our Bridal Party. I vote leave Monday… we were exhausted Sunday!!

I’d definitely wait a day. You’ll probably get to bed late on Saturday (Sunday morning?) so being at the airport by 3:00a on Sunday will SUCK.

We gave ourself a day.  We had a lot of out of towners and wanted to take our time with our good byes the next day.

There’s a lot of pros and cons to each…we are leaving the day after, but seriously considered waiting a day. Part of the reason we chose the day after was the “wedding high” like someone else mentioned, but I had selfish motives as well: I didn’t want to hang out with Out of Town guests the day after the wedding. It sounds awful since they are flying in to see me, but I want to spend that time with my husband and not my family (they can be very stressful!) I knew if we waited around a day, everyone would expect us to hang out with them. So besides the fact that I’m a terrible person, I think either choice could be good!

We left a day later. Definitely still felt the wedding high and was so thankful for more sleep. We had a day after brunch with close friends and family. Then DH and I were alone and opened cards/presents and then went out to dinner just the two of us. It was such a great day!

We waited a day and I’m so glad for it.  The extra time to pack, see any family that is still in town, open gifts, etc., is so worth it.  You will definitely still be on your “wedding high”!  Plus your flight is so early in the a.m. you’ll have to leave for the airport at like 3-3:30 (I’m guessing, not sure how close you are to the airport).

@AshleyR83:  Absolutely! We were so ecstatic that we were finally married and headed to such a great place! We stayed at Sandals La Toc, but we did travel around the island quite a bit! So beautiful and most everyone is very welcoming!
