The actual correct answer isn’t up there.  You send them out 6-8 weeks in advance unless you have out of country guests then you compensate for mail both ways and adjust it accordingly.

Save the date cards are for anywhere from 6 monhts to a year in advance.  I didn’t use them because my wedding is so small….

I just put mine in the mail this morning for my 5/19 wedding.  I’m 9 weeks ahead but I figured it’s not so early that I’ll offend anyone and I also don’t want to look at these invitations any longer so to the post office they go 🙂

Probably 2 1/2 months because our wedding is the weekend after the 4th of July and I want people to be able to plan accordingly for the holiday if they are coming to the wedding too. And because I’m just so excited to get the invites out there! 🙂

I’m working on mine now, think I’ll send them out at 8 weeks just so I can set the RSVP date a little early for stragglers!

I figure if I aim for 2 months/8 weeks, they’ll get out within the 6-8 week mark

I will be sending them out mid-June. I wanted to send them out the end of May, but we’re going on vacation for a week at the end of May, so I’ll be waiting to send them out when I get back. So we’ll be sending them a little over 2 months.

My wedding is at the end of Sept., but our coordinator at the venue wants everything finalized a month ahead of time, so we are essentially planning for the end of August.  We opted not to do STD’s so i feel as though i should send out invitations earlier and we are having Out of Town guest some of which are out of the country.  So We were going to send ours out in May…i dont see why not …people need to know when it is right? lol

I’m from the UK having a Destination Wedding in NYC.  I am traveling to NY in May and so will be giving my invites to my Bridesmaid or Best Man (who is currently living there) to send to FI’s family in the US mid June, which is when I shall be sending the UK invites to the UK family, this is save me mucho postage!!!!  I want to leave enough time for FI’s family to organise and send their RSVPs and I don’t want FI’s UK family to whine that the US family got theirs first!!!  haha

I’m planning 2 months- people need to reserve their hotel room a month before the wedding (tourist season in Amish country), so I want to make sure people have time to do that.
