Okay could very well be a stupid question – I’m assuming once you know how many people will be staying in the hotel?
Just want to make sure no one did it another way, or had any tips.
Last – where did all you gals get the handy catalogs and travel info in bulk like that?

I havn’t done this for Out of Town bags but for another event. You can get all fo those free flyers at your local tourist board. Tell them what you want them for and they are usually happy to pass them on free. The whole point is to promote tourism and if your guests are coming in form Out of Town then they will spend $$ for food, trinkets, that forgotten tie or the run in thier stocking…. It is a great way for them to promote the town and not have to do any work. The cost is sponsored by the advertisers in the booklets and pamphlets. If there is a particular place you want to recommend and the Tourisim Board doesn’t have any ask the venue (museum, restaurant , etc.) They are often happy to give you copies of thier menues, business cards or flyers because it is chep publicity and as visitors to a wedding they are much more likely to go to places suggested by the wedding party.

I got my catalogs from the chamber of commerce. They also gave me free swag to include in the boxes.
I’ve started collecting little by little so I won’t have sticker shock. I was also given individually 500 wrapped anti-bacterial wipes. I just called the marketing person at the company and asked them if they wanted to include their product in my give away bags for a conference I was organizing.
