Just out of curiosity, when is the “appropriate” time to order things like favors, centerpieces, etc.?
I know that these things will be based on the number of people who RSVP ‘yes,’ but seeing as invitations don’t go out until a few months before a wedding, I feel like that’s waiting WAY to long, especially if you are doing things yourself.
For example, I am planning on making our centerpieces and one of my BMs is going to make the table numbers. We are also probably going to have to put together our favors and I don’t want to wait until the last minute.
I also have some extra money right now because I got a new job and my fiance and I won’t have a mortgage/rent payment until we move in together in the next few months. So financially, I’d like to get this stuff done ASAP.
Our guest list is at 266 and probably 200 or so will show up because we have a lot of relatives who live out of state and who are very elderly. So … yeah. Should I just order a bunch of crap and have leftovers?
I don’t want to wait until the RSVPs start rolling in like 8-10 weeks before the wedding because I will NOT have the time, money, or sanity to deal with these details that late in the game.
How did other Bees handle this?
