I’m probably going to start packing mine soon, and I’m 22 weeks.  We’ve had one scare/ER trip already.  If something were to happen now, I’d be sent to Labor and Delivery over the ER and would likely be staying a while.

I just did mine on Monday at 38 weeks. The problem is at the end of the pregnancy i find that only so many things fit so I don’t have many clothes to spare. Also if you live close enough to the hospital and have family around, worse case scenerio is someone could run to your house.

I’m planning to pack mine next weekend, and I’ll be 35 weeks. I haven’t had any early labor signs or anything. If something happened, my mom is close by and has keys to our house–she could pick up what we really needed. I was going to do it this weekend, but I have to go on a short overnight trip, and some of the things I’d pack overlap, so it makes more sense to just wait a week.

I will be 38 weeks on Monday and mine is 3/4 of the way packed.. I just need to pack some essentials as we are walking out the door to go to the hospital. We had one scare at about 35 weeks and I wasn’t packed at all then.

I’m no where near packing yet, but I do plan on starting early.  I’m planning on throwing together 1 set of clothes, travel toiletries and a book as an emergency going in early bag.  I’m going to make a list of other stuff I want that I’ll either pack closer to the due date, or have husband, sister, mom -someone pick up for me if I have to go in early for some reason.

i am 37 weeks and 4 days and am only planning to pack it tomorrow. well i have planned to do it for the past 2 weeks, but haven’t gotten around to it.  my bag of toiletries is always pre-packed because in the past i have travelled alot on small trips. so it’s just clothes, snacks, and any other fun stuff that i want to bring that i need to pack.  and stuff for the baby of course!  i have a list made as well, so like a PP said, if i go into labor tonight or tomorrow, my husband can take me to the hospital as i am and i can give him my list. we live down the street from the hospital anyway.

FWIW, the nurse who taught our labor and delivery class at the hospital strongly recommended that we pack our hospital bag at 36 weeks the latest….i really intended to when she said that!

Um, 39w4d…right before we went to the hospital. Well, not true, it was semi-packed for about two weeks before that…with baby clothes, baby book, birth plan, call-sheet, and a box of granola bars. And socks (bring socks, hospitals are cold). Everything else was packed about 10 minutes before we walked out the door. Problem was a lot of the stuff that I wanted to bring was being used on a daily basis (my clothes) or I didn’t want to buy double of (like toiletries). I did, however, have a very detailed list of every item I wanted to put in there, so when it was time my mom and Darling Husband could pack it.

I wasn’t worried about unexpectedly having to go to L&D and not having a bag packed…we live 15 minutes from the hospital, there was really nothing I’d need/want until after LO was born that I wasn’t already carrying in my purse (like my phone and Kindle). If needed someone could have gone to my house and packed up the rest.
