So I know, I know, send invitations 8 weeks before the wedding.
HOWEVER, we are inviting a LOT more people than can actually attend. So I had an idea to start sending wedding invitations 12 weeks before the wedding and send them in phases.

12 weeks before is fine, especially if you have people travelling to attend your wedding. My venue needs to know final numbers 4 weeks beforehand and I’d like to give people more than a few weeks to respond so I’ll be sending mine out at least 12 weeks ahead of the day.

do you have a b-list? is that what you mean by phases?

Its fine, just make sure that you dont send some invites to people in the same social group 12 weeks out and 8 weeks out. Thats how the B listers figure out who they are.

i think 12 weeks is fine. thats like 3 months! i think it all depends on when your rsvp dates are for each group and how long you give them to rsvp back to you.
