Hey all! So I’m starting to work on my invites, but I just realized I have no clue when to send out the invitations or when to have my RSVP by deadline set as. How far out did you/are you sending/recieving RSVP’s? Help please, I was hoping to start getting these TEDIOUS invites done in the near future. Thanks!

Invitations generally go out 2 months before the wedding, and RSVP’s are to be back 2-3 weeks before the wedding so you have time to change any seating arrangements etc

Invitations are to be mailed 6-8 weeks before the event with an RSVP date of 1-2 weeks before the event.
It is not polite to invite people too early.

we have the same date so I hope I can help 🙂 we are sending out save the dates on march 14th (6 months out) and the invitations will probably be sent either June 14th (3 months out) or July (14th 2 months out) And our RSVP date is August 9th to give a grace perios of a week, about a week to track any down, and still have my numbers in good timing and then I would still have about 3 weeks to have my final #’s in. If your wedding is in Japan, and guests are travelling the distance from North America I would give them at least 6 months before your date.

Yea the distance is why it’s difficult. I will actually be moving from Japan back to the states about 2 weeks before the wedding. 99% of guests will be traveling within the US but from the opposite side. I’m trying to get the wedding stuff done before the move back just because the move itself is going to be so hectic (the 2 of us plus 3 animals!), and when we get there we will be staying with my parents for a month before we go to the next duty station. I want to be fair to our guests, but still be able to get everything done before we move… so hectic!
